    Description

Offering this Stanley Bedrock 602C, corrugated plane. It has the same logo on the iron as found on the Type 10 or Type 11 bench plane irons from  around the coveted 1910 timeframe. Two patent dates, 1895 and 1910. Appears consistent with type 5 in the Bedrock type study.
It has Stanley on the lateral adjuster and the lever cap, and it has the small adjuster knob, flat sides and locking pins. I don't see any cracks or repairs in the tote or knob. The finish looks quite decent, but has some light tarnish and surface scratches.
Now the really bad part: Someone drilled a hole through the sole under the knob, tapped a larger hole, and replaced the original threaded rod and brass nut, with a brass screw, and a nut that locks the knob down. The hole in the sole was backfilled with epoxy that matches fairly well, but is not a permanent patch. Despite that, the plane looks good on the shelf, and you have to double take to see the repair. I have discounted the price significantly because of that regretful artifact. See photos for visual description info.  Note that returns are a hassle for me, so make sure you see the condition described and the photos, and are satisfied with the condition, before making the purchase.
Sorry for the hassle but ebay requires Signature Confirmation for high value items, which is prudent given the snatch and run activities these days.
