    Description

    According to Bob Kaune’s website/information, this is a 1911 Type 5 plane, which is the beginning of the frogs being attached to the beds with pins and screws.  Also, according to Bob Kaune’s website, the frog is from an earlier period and the iron/blade is from a more recent period.  The Japanning is rough.  It appears that the Japanning had flaked off and paint was applied over it.  There is a chunk missing from the front tote/knob (see photo).  I do

    see any evidence of any cracks or repairs.
    This is the extent of what I know about this plane.  I am much closer to a novice than an expert on old Stanley planes.   Let me know if you need addition photos/close-ups.
