    Description

    An ORIGINAL FROG MECHANISM for an Ohio Tool No. O4 1/4, O4 1/4 C, O5 1/2 or O5 1/2 C heavy bench plane by the Ohio Tool Company, Columbus, Ohio. Fully 95% of the original black japan finish remains on this uncommon 2 1/4 inch width frog. The O5 1/2 was the Ohio Tool equivalent of the Stanley No. 5 1/2, which was unique among Stanley cast iron bench planes in using a 2 1/4 inch width cutting iron. In the case of the Ohio Tool Company, they also offered an O4 1/4 heavy smoothing plane that used a 2 1/4" width cutting iron.
