Custom 5.5" scale Sensorite action figure as seen in
The Sensorites
(1964)
Greetings on behalf of the
3D Printing Doctor Who
project.
Our goal is to supplement the official 5.5" scale Character Options toy line with free articulated action figures that people can download and print at home (assuming they have access to a 3D printer). Since this is a non-commercial fan project, I normally don't allow my creations to be sold on eBay, but every few years I make an exception for some of the prototypes I test-printed along the way to developing my final designs. Most of these prototypes have at least one small thing wrong with them, which I will point out in the description below, but if you don't own a 3D printer and don't feel like paying an arm and a leg to use a print-to-order service, this is your only chance to own a one-of-a-kind piece of custom Doctor who memorabilia.
All funds earned from these auctions get recycled back into the project to cover equipment and material costs to help bring you, the fans, even more free Doctor Who figures!
I will be listing about
60 items
from my collection of prototypes across the next few days, so please
check out my other auctions
. Once they're gone... they're gone, and there will be no more!
What You're Buying:
Print media:

Item description:
This Sensorite figure was an attempt to do a swappable head design, and while it does come with a second "First Elder" head, once you pull it off the plug it doesn't really want to go back on again. I also had to glue the pelvis in place after one of the hip joints snapped during assembly, so the upper legs do not move as originally intended. Other than that, it turned out gorgeous, and there's a lot of fine facial detail on these figures that surpass even what you can get from a professional toy company like Character Options.
Fair warning: Character Options will be including a Sensorite in a soon-to-be-released B&M set. While CO haven't officially announced it's release yet, pictures have already leaked online. However, since they are stuck recycling existing bodies at this point, I can confidently say based on the photos I've seen that mine is a more screen accurate representation of the character. That said, because an official release is imminent, I have already pulled this model from my template line-up, which means this figure is truly a one of a kind figure and no others will ever be put up for auction.
The Fine Print:
All figures are one-of-a-kind and sold "as is." While I will do my utmost to ensure your figure arrives in the same condition shown here, there is nothing I can do to repair or replace an item if it breaks. Be warned that these "action figures" are imperfect pieces of fan art intended for display purposes only and nowhere near as durable as the toys you regularly buy in stores. They can and will break it you aren't careful with them. If you plan on displaying the figure on a shelf you might want to try hot gluing the legs down (assuming it has legs) to a piece of cardstock or foamcore so it can't topple over in the middle of the night and take the rest of your collection with it.
Shipping:
Shipped with USPS First Class (US Residents) or USPS First Class International (Worldwide). Apologies in advance that postage is so high for U.K. residents, but consider it vicarious payback for all the times I've had to pay to ship a £12 figure set to the United States.
If you win multiple items, I will happily combine shipping. Just wait until all the auctions are over or request a total when you're ready to check out.
As a way of apologizing for the U.S. postal system and terrible $ to £ exchange rate, each package I send out will contain a super secret mystery bonus "figure" free of charge?
What sort of “mystery figure” can fit flat inside a tiny 2.25” x 3.75” envelope? You'll just have to wait to find out!
