I am selling all of my BCTW tools as I am downsizing.  All of the tools have been stored in an air-conditioned home while I have owned them.  Some may have tarnish on the brass, which is easily removed.  However, I will leave tarnish removal to the seller as some prefer the natural look of tarnish and some prefer to remove it with polish.

Product Description
One of the coolest things about a shoulder plane isthat they do a marvelous job of what they were designed to do, and that iscleaning the end grain shoulders of tenons.  There are lots of other usesas well, but this is task they tamed.
Back when John was designing and building furniture, he always back-cut tenonshoulders to insure the joint pulled tight 100% of the time. This was done viachisel work.
Why not build a shoulder plane with tapered sides to do this in one step? So,building on the tradition of our unique foxtail shoulder plane design, we arepleased to introduce the
LimitedEdition HP11-FW Tapered Body Shoulder Plane
.
The
HP11-FW
features sides that are tapered two degrees from the sole creating an acuteangle of 88 degrees per side. In addition to getting into places no square bodyplane can match, the HP11-FW remains a steadfast plane for both edge and endgrain cutting needs.
One must wonder why this has never been done before (if it has, we haven’t seenit) and I think I know the reason; if the sides are tapered, so must be theiron.  As a tapered iron wears, it will eventually become narrower thanthe sole width. For this reason, we are including 3 irons with the HP-11FW. Weare certain this will be a lifetime supply.
We are only making 50 of these in stainless steel and then they will be goneforever.
